Valerio Magrelli, born in Rome in 1957, has published six books of poetry (collected in the volume Le cavie, Einaudi 2018), the verse pamphlet Il commissario Magrelli (Einaudi 2018), and a four-volume prose cycle (concluded with Geologia di un padre, Einaudi 2013). His latest book of verse is Exfanzia (Einaudi 2022). Professor of French literature at the University of Roma Tre, he directed the trilingual series ‘Writers translated by writers’ Einaudi (National Prize for Translation 1996). In 2002, the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei awarded him the Feltrinelli Prize for Italian Poetry.
